Taking Refuge

Kara Faith's Temporary Marker
(Many thank you's to the City of Newberry and North FL Monument!)
I can still feel her in my arms when I look at this...

Feelings are pretty rough over here. It is a true effort to rise each day and do all the "normal" stuff we are to be doing. God gave me Psalm 16 last night when we were praying...

"Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing." (verses 1-2)

"LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;
you have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;

surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the LORD, who counsels me;

even at night my heart instructs me.
I have set the LORD always before me.

Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (vs. 5-8)

My son Caleb was born sleeping at 17 weeks 4 days on the same day that your sweet Kara was born. Please check out my blog - it is the record of my journey leaning on Yahweh through loss. I am in the process of founding a ministry for families facing loss, as well as to draw awareness of fetal development. We haven't launched our website yet, but you can find our group, "Caleb's Ministry" on Facebook. Please join and share your story of choosing life for your daughter and the blessings it brought to her and your family!

God Bless,

The marker is beautiful.
I hope that time eases your pain.

Those days, so thick with emotion and pain..they are so difficult. And yet, those days made me feel so close to her. Try to sleep, and rest. Only do what you absolutely must. And God will bring grace and strength.

I haven't been able to check this blog for a couple of weeks, but I have been thinking of you.
I am so amazed by your strength and cannot imagine how it must feel to have to cope with this.
You and your family are amazing, never forget that. Your strength and quiet grace have inspired so many. Keep on keeping on.
With love,

ps - I love the picture of Kara Faith you have added to the top of the page. She looks so serene, with a secret little smile.

I just recently found your story. I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. My husband and I also lost a little girl last year to Alobar Holoprosencephaly.. we weren't blessed enough to meet her but I did carry her to 36 weeks and wouldn't take back any second of it. I am so delighted to see awareness being brought to this seeing as there wasn't much not long ago when I found out Hope's diagnosis at 14 wks. pregnant. More of her story here:
